Finally the sun has returned to brighten the dismal and grey skies of London and it couldn’t have come at a better time as I have found the perfect band to soundtrack this unexpected heat wave.

Sweet Valley (Facebook/Twitter) is the side project of Wavves frontman Nathan Williams and his brother Kynan.
This band has been in the making for a little while now, initially intended to be a mixtape to wind away the blissful seasonal hot days it has been described by the brothers “as a soundtrack to getting drunk to this summer”

It’s a little different from the fuzzy guitar work of Wavves, but its experimental extrinsic beat
still strikes against the rays of tropical surf rock. What ever is left of this summer can be found in this record.

The debut album aptly titled Stay Calm is due for release on August 7th via Fools Gold but the first single Total Carnage is available now as a free download below.
