D/R/U/G/S (or Cal to his friends) has been sitting on the periphery of the mainstream for the last few years with his own carefully constructed rave/pop soundscapes (we featured the excellent Love/Lust on our 2010 down-tempo electronic mix Immersed in Wires), but having now faced some demons, 2014 looks set to be the year he finally takes back control.
The last 12 months has seen the release of his experimental Echo Rave EP, the understated and the mesmerising You Are Everywhere with Rebecca Rivers. But it is Overcome, where he’s worked with Fé, that is the most exciting and a pure laid back house/tropical disco delight that is made for the summer.
Overcome is getting a release on Bad Life later this year
