Those that have spent time at Walrus Towers know that my love of food and drink comes a close second to my love of music – so I was only too happy to put together a playlist of songs for the kitchen for Crock Pot’s Pamper Time Weekender
Whether it’s turning the kitchen into a chemistry set to make sloe gin, or spending time preparing your favourite meal, music makes the whole experience better – this playlist is what I have on at the moment when I’m in the kitchen.
Majik’s blissful Save Me and Cape Cub’s Closer beautifully ease us into the right mood with their brand of blissful indie pop.
The timeless Tobia Jesso Jr’s Hollywood keeps it simple with vocals and piano, before we break into the sultry production of Joy Crookes’ Sinatra and A.K. Paul’s remix of James Vincent McMorrow’s Rising Water.
Tender’s Outside introduces the soul and gets the feet tapping, with a hypnotic groove that carries through Brijs’ Thunder and Skott’s Wolf.
Akiine’s Sunglassy is all sunshine and joy, while American Ltd’s American Eyes is full of 80s nostalgia and synths, a sound that also ties in Dyan’s mesmerising Looking For Knives.
Skott’s Amelia begins with a folksy twinge, but the sound quickly becomes much darker with a throbbing bass, that’s prepares us for the late night jam of Tweaks’ Girl on the Wire.
Junior Empire’s West Coast is more upbeat, with the sun peaking through the clouds, leaving Will Joseph Cook to finish off the hour of music with the pure joy of Take me Dancing. It’s time to serve up.
