Graham Coxon, he of Blur fame, has a new album coming out on April 2nd by the name of A+E and to coincide with that release EMI got together a handful of blogs to add create their own re-edits and remixes. We were one of those blogs alongside our friends at The 405 and Loud & Quiet. If you think you can do better than us (and you probably can), then go and grab the stems.
My take is more of a re-edit than a full remix, taking the elements I liked of the original, moving them around in the mix, upping the tempo, and manoeuvring the synth-line in the second half – turning the whole track into into something a little more of a pop-tune. My first take at it was more utterly sporadic electronica pretty much only keeping the vocals, but I think that had more to do with my post-wedding hangover at the time – this simpler take worked better to my ears.
The 405’s Matthew Grundy has stripped back the whole thing
And Campari for Loud & Quiet has taken things in a cosmic direction
The video for the track is also amde out of short clips of fans sending in their own clips that have been rolled into this
