Good morning all. Here’s something for you to start your day with: some freshly-squeezed fuzzy indie-pop goodness from Denmark. Yep, those Scandinavians are at it again with their awesome music-making. This particular band go by the name of Glow Kit, and they know how to write infectious songs. Very well indeed, in fact, if Head Factory is anything to go by. Think of Wavves getting drunk with Tokyo Police Club and coming up with a straightforward garage-pop tune in twenty minutes. It gets straight to the point, and doesn’t mess around in the slightest, which is good when it runs to just under two-and-a-half minutes. Delivered at a brisk pace, the song makes an immediate impact with its impressive hook and utterly charming sound. They don’t need to hide behind anything, much less one of their own guitars, as their music speaks volumes.
In the interest of bringing you up to speed, though, here are some other things you need to know:
- They’ve signed to Alcopop! Records (the roster keeps getting better, and it’s at such an extent now that I wonder how the label hasn’t imploded from awesomeness overload yet)
- There is an album in the can (already released back in Europe on P.Trash Records and in North America on FDH ); check out a few songs on their Soundcloud)
- It is due over here in May
- There are UK dates in the offing (one at the (Alternative) Great Escape is still TBA)
- Head Factory is a free download
