It’s not often that one releases a cover as their debut single. To say that Kid Noize’s [Twitter/Facebook] decision, at this early stage in his career, to cover Eisbaer by the 80s band Grauzone was ambitious would be to undersell it: in taking the original and giving it a muscular electro twist, he has marked himself out as a man to watch. You may already have heard of him from his work with Spirit Catcher and Aeroplane, and he’s certainly been around for a bit, but this is the first solo material we’ve heard from him. He’s roped in Minimal Compact’s lead singer Samy Morpheus to provide vocals for a song that should, no doubt, move him on to bigger and better things. The song doesn’t remain faithful to its original version; instead, the BPM is notched up , and there is a lot more emphasis on percussion – all sorts feature on the song. The video, which is below, is well worth a watch as well, indicating that Kid Noize has a striking visual presence – and also that he’s just getting warmed up.
