The Blue Walrus

Meursault – Flittin’

Meursault Flittin'

We’re huge fans of Meursault (facebook/twitter) here at Walrus Towers, so when I first heard that they had dropped the electronics from their next album, Something For The Weakened, it was with some trepidation that I wondered upstairs at the Old Blue Last to hear their new material.

Without their squeaks and beeps, stripped back, Meursault’s songs are even more beautiful, however, so my heart could rest. They may be more sweary now, but that is simply the Scottish vocabulary, one that I may have taken on board over my hears living north of the border.

I’ll leave my review of Something For The Weakened for next week as it is not due for release until 16th July, but to demonstrate the sheer honest beauty of Meursault, we’ve got a stream of the band’s next single Flittin’ alongside a haunting piano version of the same song that will bring a grown man to tears. They’ve got soul.
