A lot of bands and artists have a habit of running up a tally of brilliant singles before the release of their debut album, at which point they fall short. We at Walrus are pretty confident that this won’t happen with Jessie Ware [Twitter/Facebook]; even though she’s racked up four top-notch singles so far, there’s a real sense that the best is yet to come. Up above is the video for her new single, Wildest Moments, a song which was recently used in Wimbledon coverage. That sort of hook-up is just the tip of the iceberg; she’d better get used to wider exposure, because we have no doubt that there are big things coming her way come August 20th, when her album, Devotion, sees the light of day. The soulful stunner that flags up the album’s release one week earlier is means that she is now responsible for three of the best singles of the year. There is real potential in the album. We have it. We haven’t listened yet, but if you can’t tell, we’re very excited. You should be too.
