Mr Nô (facebook/twitter) made his mark on the scene last October with his Snake EP last October, a record filled with high drama and thumping house beats. Now he’s back with Versus, a new EP on Belgium’s infamous Lektroluv label and it picks up right where the last one left off.
The title track is off-kilter and hypnotic, but it is The New Order where the Frenchman really shows his talent – he’s coiled the tension even further and when this hits its groove, fuck me. It’s sinister, manipulative, and entirely dance-floor immersive. Then he slows the whole thing down for Onset with a bassline groove that puts Justice to shame. Wow.
