Peers have been on the Walrus radar for a while now, hell Ollie wrote about them a couple of years ago on My Band’s Better Than Your Band – but they have finally decided to grace us once again with new music to follow up the fantastic Football. And this time they’ve come bearing the fruits of an entire EP’s worth of material.
Their sound is still full of that energy that defined them, but they’ve matured. Nightdriving and Stay With Me is Peers of old – catchy as fuck exuberant indie-pop, but it is with Guilt that they show how far they’ve come. It’s slow, desperate and utterly mesmerising – a song to soundtrack the end of the world.
…and here’s Football for those that need reminding!
