After a debut record that clearly marked The xx as one of the most exciting and understated bands around, they are back with new material in Angels.
It’s certainly reminiscent of The xx of old with heavy reverb, skeletal guitar, but with the desctrcuted beats that roll in on the snare it is also a taster as to what’s to come with the upcoming release of Coexist on 10th September. It’s soft, at times sweet and at others desperate.
