G R O O V E

A few years ago as electro was about to break through into the mainstream with the likes of Justice and SebastiAn, I put together a series of mixtapes called Clap To The Electricity/Clap Your Hands To The Electricity. They were *very* popular, but around mid 2010 I felt the electro scene was starting to fall a little flat and the series was no more.

We’ve kept covering plenty of electronic artists in the meantime for single, EP, and album reviews, but I am starting to get excited about dance music again. I’m not sure what has changed, but I know a fair bit of that excitement comes from the output of Mr Nô for that dancefloor flair, but also from the likes of Tourist and Disclosure who are offering up a more refined but utterly beautiful groove. It isn’t just them, however, there is a movement that appreciates the subtleties and delicacies that is possible within the EDM bracket.

So… Here we have the start of a new series of electronic jams, that you could called Clap Your Hands To The Electricity vol.13, but I’m calling it G R O O V E.
