Klangkarussell – Sonnentanz

Unsere körper sind in ein gigantisches abenteuer gestürzt / Our bodies are thrown into a gigantic adventure

You definitely know it’s summer when you come across a perfect tune that sums up the magic – and possible sunburn – the sun has got to offer. It’s already August and I’ve only just figured out which song gets me in the mood but I guess it’s better late than never. Best part, the title literally translates to sun dance.

Klangkarussell are an Austrian duo, Tobias Rieser and Adrian Held, two music producers that (as their website perfectly describes) ‘brought sunshine within a short time to numerous people around the globe.’ You see where I’m coming from with the summer vibes?

Sonnentanz received an incredible response on Youtube making it an instant hit with 1 million plays in just a month. The song was properly released as a single quite recently on the 23rd of July by the record label Stil Vor Talent. I am not exaggerating when I say that this song has been on repeat for the past hour. It’s just that über sexy, catchy, simple saxophone and the way the beats smoothly build up along with the perfect timing. I just can’t get it out of my system.

If this tune doesn’t seem like your perfect summer track, I would highly recommend browsing through playlists on Musik 2.0 or as Mathias Rouveure would say: ‘toasts’. The young Frenchman behind this project actually introduced me to Klangkarussell and I’m pretty certain he introduced them to a lot of people. I thank him big time. If it weren’t for him, I’d endlessly be rummaging around for my summer track. Musik 2.0 organised their first event in June, introducing Belgian artist Stereoclip to the Swiss crowd, and Mathias has made it clear that he wants to build a sense of community around the project: in the Facebook group people get to share tracks they love and based on the numbers of likes each track gets, some end up being in the weekly toasts and believe me, they never fail to satisfy your appetite.

Klangkarussell are currently touring around Germany and Austria however I don’t believe they’ve hit UK shores yet… I have high hopes for them, I really do.
