The latest little musical earworm to be injecting itself into my ears comes in the ambient form of FEWS. This band are somewhat clouded in mystery, by that I mean I know little or nothing about them but their music speaks for itself, 10 Things the first and only track to be releases by the band is a mesmerising 4 minutes and 20 seconds of sensory paced reverb and cooling vocals, its jaunty and agile tempo juxtaposes with the floaty whirlwind of it tranquil aesthetic beauty.
FEWS follow on from with last years inception of the lucid dream pop and surf rock fusion made prevalent by bands such as Beach Fossils, Ducktails and most recently DIIV. Their half awake half asleep tropical daze like ambiance tiptoe its way through the drone of shoegaze and meet with the experimental lo-fi haze of the chillwave genre.It’s plain to hear that this is a remedy FEWS have mastered in their sound.
News on the grapevine is that the band are in the process of releasing another song. I for one am eagerly waiting to hear what eles FEWS have to offer but in the mean time I think this song deserve another play.
