The Blue Walrus

Remixed and reworked – Duologue, NYPC, Lorde, All We Are, and Years & Years

Duologue - Sibling (NYPC remix)

We don’t normally post remixes her on the blog (you’ll have to follow us on Twitter and Facebook for that), but we’ve had three in the last few days which really deserved a bigger mention.

First up is a remix by NYPC (formerly new Young Pong Club) of Duologue‘s Sibling, where the track has been transformed with a sinister, understated house-groove, but always leaving space for Tim Digby-Bell’s beautiful and emotive vocals. It’s a beautiful thing when two of your favourite bands come together.

Lorde‘s Yellow Flickr Beat has been given the remix treatment by Antennae, who has remodelled the track and given it a little more disco, a little more funk, but kept the atmosphere for which Lorde has become famous.

And lastly, Walrus favourites Years & Years have reworked All We Are‘s pop-funk I Wear You and tuned it into something completely new and beautifully melancholic, with Olly Alexander’s vocals utterly mesmerising.

And here are the originals for comparison:
