In the latest edition of our themed mixtape series, we’ve put together a playlist of some of our favourite songs for listening to while at your desk. It’s all pretty down-tempo so you can actually get some work done, but is filled with some of our favourite songs over the last few months and a few a bit older.
This playlist has been made with the support of The Workplace Depot, which is one of the UK’s leading industrial and workplace companies, providing everything for the work environment from bike racks to bubble wrap.
Onto the music…
Hozier‘s Work Song is aptly named to kick off the mixtape, with Andrew Hozier-Byrne’s breathtaking vocals easing you in to that working head space.
Doe Paoro introduces the loops and skittish drums, while keeping everything soft and easing into the mesmerising wonder of Mt Wolf‘s Red.
The Legends‘ Keep Him brings the music a little more upbeat, with their subtle pop sounds, and Deptford Goth‘s beautiful Two Hearts keeps the sounds sweet.
The trip hop sounds come from Walrus friends Haelos on Earth Not Above.
Teddy Au Top layers on even more atmosphere, before Fourtet brings in the breaks on his remix of The xx‘s genre-forming VCR.
Petite Biscuit reintroduces us to some pop positivity, and Chet Faker then brings in the cool-as-all-hell groove with 1998.
RAC‘s glossy and pop perfect remix of Harriet‘s Irish Margaritas means its time to stick your head head out from that pile of books, close the laptop, and grab a coffee – that’s a full hour’s of hard work you’ve got done right there.
