TWEAKS (formerly Pin Tweaks) had one of our most played tracks on 22tracks last year in Girl On The Wire, and now the London-based duo are now back with a debut EP Sisters.
The EP opens with Girl On The Wire, which has been given a bit of polish by engineer Dan Parry and feels as exciting now as it did when I first heard it, with it menacing growls, industrial overtones, and late night glow.
The heavily reverbed percussion continues on Sisters, but everything else is softened and the sound is transformed into something more introverted, more melancholic, with ethereal vocals to cushion the post-party comedown.
Clay is a different prospect again, with the physicist and architect introducing a laid-back soul groove and some early 90s guitar squeals that build that late night neon vibe.
This is the late night TWEAKS EP I always wanted.
TWEAKS – Sisters EP is out today (26 February) on Outset Recordings
