Walrus live: Hopscotch featuring Cortes, Flight Brigade, and Sisteray

Hopscotch - June poster

Marking six months of Hopscotch putting on fantastically good bands in central London, on 21 June we’ve got the pleasure of Cortes and Flight Brigade taking the stage at The Social alongside one other act to be announced soon.

London three-piece Cortes have been championed by both Annie Mac and Zane Lowe on the back of their thunderous debut single Close To Nowhere, and having now signed a publishing deal with Sony ATV it’s only onwards and upwards from here. By all accounts they slayed at The Great Escape last weekend, so take advantage of seeing them at an intimate venue for Hopscotch while you still can.

Sisteray have had their energetic brand of punk rock’n’roll described by BBC Radio 1’s Phil Taggart as “gnarly” and more eloquently by The Devil Has The Best Tuna as “if the Velvet Underground had been born within the sound of the bow bells and spent their time furtively coupling with the Strokes”.

Seven-piece Flight Brigade (it’s a mystery how they’ll all fit on stage) were named as one of the most exciting bands to watch by our friends over at DrunkenWerewolf, with their infectious and textured electro rock in high demand. Often compared to Arcade Fire and My Morning Jacket, with bookings for Glastonbury and Bestival this summer – it looks like 2016 will be the year they get the recognition they deserve.
