Yes it has been a couple of weeks since my last post about the IFPI issues I was having, but still no-one has told me what the offending file was so the old posts are staying down for the time being. I wish bands/labels/organisations would contact me to remove the offending file – it would be quicker and make life easier for everyone. Nonetheless, these issues haven’t stopped the Blue Walrus becoming quite popular over the past few weeks with mentions in The Guardian newspaper and on Xfm radio – which is the reason my badwidth has become blitzed for the last couple of days. We got through 20 GB of downloads in 10 days – ouch ;) On that front, if you get a bandwidth exceeded notice when you try to download a song, just grab the zip file as that has unlimited downloads.
Onto the new music though with the hotly anticipated Snazzy Vol. 3.
These are the songs which are getting overplayed on my iPod at the moment ranging from what NME have termed nu-rave sounds of The Maccabees, to a new song from !!!, a great remix by the man of the moment Jamie T, and two mash-ups from Quentin Tarantino‘s film soundtracks from a CD sent to me last week by James Hyman from the Xfm radio show The Rinse.

hey man, nice blog. nice hot club de paris remix, but maccabees are not, and will never be nu-rave. and i’m pretty sure NME havn’t called them it either. Try the klaxons instead!
I’m loving the new klaxons album, but posted a track in my last post so didn’t want to overdo the love. And you’re probably right about NME not calling them nu rave, but I certainly see some similarities (although I suppose bloc party-a-like would be a closer description to their sound).
