Over the past year or so, the indie pop scene has quietened down a little – at least in terms of how good its offerings are. But, of course, this doesn’t mean that there aren’t great new acts bubbling under the surface of the calm exterior…
One such is Blonde Louis. This four-piece guitar-oriented band are between the tender ages of 16 and 18, and they’ve been making waves with a tour supporting Goldhawks at the end of 2009 and their own headline tour scheduled for next month.
If the MySpace demo tracks and their debut single are anything to go by, this is definitely a band to watch out for in 2010. I look forward to some summer festival appearances too…they’re just the sort of band you want to see out under the sun (or rain, if we’re talking about Latitude 2009).
To celebrate this blossoming young band, we’re giving away free track ‘100 Miles’ to TBW readers, so enjoy! And did I mention these guys are the cutest little popsters you’ll ever lay your eyes on?!
It does sound sort of under-developed, but they have an interesting sound to it. I’d like to hear them again in two or three years. Worth following, at least.
