Marcus Lambkin, aka Shit Robot is turning 40 next year – but before he hits that milestone he has his debut album by the name of From the Cradle to the Rave dropping on 20th September on DFA. We’ll be doing a full review closer to the release date, but trust me – you will *need* this record. Seriously.
From the Cradle to the Rave does one pretty damn amazing job of stepping from house to electro, with a little electro-funk rolled in. The records apparently been decades in the making – but fuck it – if it takes that long to make something this good it is worthwhile. In fact, if you’ve popped round to Walrus Towers recently you would have almost certainly heard this annoying the neighbours.
As of now, we’ve only been cleared to shared this TBD remix of one of my favourites off the record “I Found Love”. The remix is quite far removed from the laid back groove and nods to the 80s and 90s scene, but brings the track bang up to now, still keeping much of what is one hell of a bassline.
Are we going to get any single releases before the album?
