Crushed Beaks (facebook/twitter) is made up of London’s Matt Poile and Alex Morris who came together over a shared love of Italian horror films (who doesn’t love them?) to create sun-bleached walls of sound, only broken through some frantic drumming and Poile’s voice that drifts and ebbs like the sea, lulling you into a place of peace with the world still spinning outside.
As with any good DIY band, they recorded their demos in a bedroom, but Sun Dogs, their debut single coming out on 21st November through the Too Pure Singles Club, was taken to a different setting. The guitars are kept with their raw and destroyed feel, but the drums are given a little more space to shine having been recorded in New Cross’ Zion Chapel.
