Norwich-based artist Jess Morgan is an exciting new English folk talent. With a new album set for release next month, support dates with folk darlings Paper Aeroplanes and a very busy festival season to come this year, she’s fast becoming one to watch in 2012.
The distinctive storytelling quality of her songs and dynamic guitar playing combine to create a sound that is personal and interesting. She’s already captured the attention of Steve Lamacq – Jess is “a rare gem”, he says – and picked up acclaim from a range of other impressive sources including trad-folk royalty Megson and Acoustic Magazine.
The new album ‘Aye Me’ is released on March 26th, and is being partially funded through a Pledge Music campaign. Pledgers can gain access to exclusive hand-crafted items such as tote bags, t-shirts and lyric sheets, all made by Jess herself, plus regular ‘Pledger only’ updates in the form of video diaries, live recordings of new songs and beautiful illustrations. Those who Pledge will also receive their copy of the album two weeks before its official release date, so there are lots of reasons to get involved.

Jess is on tour throughout February, March, April and May (find the dates on her Facebook page), and then heads out again for a busy festival season that is already set to include The Big Session, Folk East, Winterwell and Ely Folk Festival.
