Things are starting to pick up for this London band, who are set to embark on a UK headline tour next week, which is just another milestone they’ve hit this year. Broken Hands [Twitter/Facebook] have been rather busy so far in 2012, as If You Need to Lie comes barely two months after previous single Sorrow, which is also streaming below for your delectation. Their brand of punchy, guitar-driven rock seems to be something of an anomaly on the London scene these days; as most of their contemporaries strive to do something fresh and different, with varying results, Broken Hands are sticking to what they know best and, it has to be said, doing it pretty damn well. Their new single (out on May 28th), contains an insanely catchy vocal hook, meaty riffs and some simple yet straightforward drumming. It doesn’t try to be anything more than what it is: a direct, impressive rock song. It’s very difficult to argue with something like that; a clear sign that the band know exactly what they’re about.
