I’ve mentioned before that live music is where our collective Walrus hearts lie, and following from that we’ve teamed up with some other fantastic music bloggers in putting together Symbiosis. And we’ve got the next round *tomorrow* featuring the fine sounds of The Thinking Men, Echo Wants her Voice Back, and Eschar – so if you want to hear some lovely live sounds then come on down to Urban Bar, Whitechapel from 7pm and say hello (and it’s free!). Here’s the Facebook event.
The Thinking Men have been featured on these pages before as a band to watch (which is why we put them forward!) when Lauren described them as “seductive bluesy rock with all sorts of folk and alternative influenced twists and turns”. I’d call it catchy as fuck blues-pop, but but I think Lauren has a better way with words…
Echo Wants her Voice Back have more of folk-pop acoustic sound that has been getting a good bit of love from Walrus friend Tom Robinson on BBC 6Music recently which is always a good sign.
Eschar are offering something a little different to the other two with their heavy melodic walls of sound, having just released an album back in February. Quite the mix then.
