Remember these guys? Well, you should do: House of Commons was a rather brilliant debut that seemed to come as if from nowhere for me back in 2009, and I had been wondering recently just where White Light Parade [Twitter/Facebook] had vanished to, but they’re on their way back, and below is the video for what is the first fruits of their second album, which is due sometime later in the year. Want You to Know is locked in for a July 2nd release on Split Records, and it sounds like the band have pushed things forward considerably, in the sense that this is not all that different to what’s gone before, simply better. They’ve taken great strides ahead in terms of songwriting and creation of hooks; the impressively large one in this song will follow you around for days. The song has an anthemic quality to it which will hopefully move the band on to greater things. Their debut signalled that the band had confidence to burn; their comeback single shows that, in that respect, nothing has changed. They still have total, utter belief in what they do, and even if the musical landscape has changed since they were last on the scene, White Light Parade should make an impact all over again this year.
