The fine folk at Bad Life are on a roll at the moment. They introduced us to MAO, put out the delicious Future Techno compilation, and now we have something completely different in the form of Petite Noir.
Petite Noir is the South African Yannick Iluga, a man with refreshingly little fear for French grammar – who has arrived with two tracks that have already got The Guardian all a fluster. It’s slow, dark, and understated – music that lets you slip away from consciousness. Full of smoke-hazed colours, R&B beats, and soft modern production. Perfect.
