It’s getting to the point where I may have to sit down and seriously consider how healthy my feelings towards My Grey Horse actually are. I mean I’m not quite at the sticking pictures of their faces over my family photos stage but I’d be lying if I said I’d never considered it. It’s rare to find a band that acts as though each step it takes is as important as its destination. Where plenty of bands will treat their first couple of releases as at best promotion and at worst a practice run before that proper “debut” materialises but My Grey Horse are just as concerned with making a statement with each release as they are with working towards something bigger. Their debut EP The Marley Banks was a perfect little indie-folk vignette, full of nostalgia, both lyrical and musical and they maintain a strong, consistent presentation in there artwork and with each new video they release. With their new EP ‘stop before the dry river’ dropping in January you’re just going to have to put up with me talking about them endlessly for at least another month, sorry.
Boy oh boy.
unreal!!!! I agree about the craftsmanship of these guys. FieldMusic on crack!
