Some days you search for hours to find a new gem, a new track to scratch that itch of music discovery, but sometimes the tracks just appear in your Facebook feed because one of your friends has started a new project and it is exactly what you’re looking for. And that’s the case with Halos, whose first song, Dust, appeared online a couple of days ago.

The trio want to keep everything under wraps for the time being, leaving us with just a glimpse of their sound to make an impact with its heavy reverb and trip hop beats. There’s elements of soul, funk, and electronica here too, and Halos have managed to effortlessly blend them all together into one of the best debut tracks I’ve heard this year.

There’s an EP on its way, and it can’t come soon enough.
