Hackney’s Nao has been working as a musician with those such as Kwabs, but this year she stepped into the foreground as a singer-songwriter, with nationwide support slots for Little Dragon.
Featuring production from brother-of-Jai, A.K. Paul (yet vocals that sound, mysteriously, so much like those on Jai Paul’s own output?) So Good, the title track of her debut EP, sees Nao developing her seductive wheeze from earlier release ‘Back Porch’, while ‘Good Girl’ glitters with layers of vocals interspersed with mechanical beats.
Tony is a student living in student halls, looking for new music on his computer. After achieving relative success among his family and a number of his friends with a two-piece acoustic duo in high school, Tony looked to fill the artistic gap that appeared when he entered university by criticising other people's music. Tony loves Stravinsky and he is struggling to find anything in modern music that can equal that. He thinks only Kanye West's Yeezus may have equalled that. He will post anything that comes close.
