After a fantastic sold-out show earlier this week (huge thanks to Will Joseph Cook, Saltwater Sun, and Venice Trip), we’re very happy to announce our line-up for next month’s Hopscotch on the 15th March with The Amazons, OhBoy!, and Fish Tank.
We’ve got three of the most exciting new bands from the UK to the exclusive stage for a SXSW special – a show for everyone who has been able to make it across the pod to Austin, Texas for the week.
Walrus favourites The Amazons made a big splash last year when they dropped the the harmonious grunge pop Something In the Water, and have found fans across across the spectrum including the likes of Zane Low and Huw Stephens. Towards the end of the year they DIY released their debut EP Don’t You Wanna? and have since been signed to Fiction Records, home of The Maccabees and are set to release a followup next month.
Slacker noise pop five-piece OhBoy! have already made their mark in 2016 with news they signed to our friends over at Alcopop! Records. And with their latest release, the cheerful scuzz-pop Carrot & The Stick, we should be hearing a lot more from the Northampton-based band in the months to come.
Formed while at university in Kent back in 2011, Fish Tank have spent the last few years perfecting the chaos of their live show and writing ever catchier melodies. And the hard work is paying off with the offer of a slot at 2015’s Reading & Leeds festivals, and a new EP towards the end of the year that shows off their talents.
You can buy tickets for the event with the Dice.fm app (no booking fees!) or at WeGotTickets right now for £5 and stay updated with information on the Facebook event or Hopscotch’s Facebook page.
