June’s Hopscotch is tomorrow night, but we’ve already got some more great bands for your ears next month – with the likes of Bad Sounds, Oh Boy!, and Engine gracing the stage at London’s The Social on 19th July.
Bad Sounds will be bringing the party from Bath, with their fuzzy pop hooks, psych tinges, and 70s vibes. It’s woozy pop with “killer bass lines and some hip shaking handclaps”.
We had Northampton-based slacker noise pop five-piece Oh Boy! come and play the stage back in February, and they absolutely blew everyone away. And with their recent signing to AlcoPop! Records and every growing fanbase, their upbeat scuzz-pop has already started making waves.
And then for something a little different we’ve got Engine, whose sound covers everything from the ticking along psy of (Un)fortunate to the more offbeat and all the more psychedelic and obscure ‘On The Yankee Station’. All you can be sure of is that it will be pure joy.
