British producer Ross Tones aka Throwing Snow has been all over the music press lately and for the best reasons, in other words, his commendable craft.
Two weeks ago, we were fully introduced to Vellico, a duo in which he shares credit with his brother, such happening included already their first output, The Pennies EP (http://www.factmag.com/2014/02/05/premiere-hear-throwing-snow-side-project-vellicos-debut-ep-the-pennines/). Surely Tones enjoys keeping us quite happy or he wouldn’t release, shortly afterwards, an astonishing track under the moniker at least I’m more familiarized with and that is Throwing Snow.
“The Tempest” is the name of the tune and features Romanian singer Adda Kaleh, who we’ll certainly keep an eye on from now on, because it’s not the first time ( think, for instance, of Py) and certainly wouldn’t be last that he chooses to work with naturally talented women. As to Tones’ own job on this, we can hear the usual arpeggiations worked on a sort of distorted synth very much in line with the one we can find in ” Too Polite”, a track that’s definitely among his top quality material.
Also, don’t forget to note down that Throwing Snow is going to play at Red Bull Music Academy on the 16th of March.
