We’re starting a new feature here at the Walrus, where we are getting some of the most exciting new bands and artists to takeover the site for the day, review a couple of their favourite new tracks, and create a playlist of some jams they love. First up: Knightstown.
Knightstown, aka Michael Aston, has spent the last few years tirelessly developing his own intricate and ephemeral style that toys with emotional and literary ideas through the medium of hypnotic ambient electronica, ravelling rhythms, and glistening, almost ecclesiastical vocals.
Knightstown’s breathtaking debut EP, ‘Keep’, is out on Friday (pre-order) on Fat Cat, and is comprised of recent singles ‘Charlatan’, ‘First Cry’, and the title track ‘Keep’, along with two other gorgeous new songs, ‘Figurines’ and ‘Settle’.
Catch him live at BBC Introducing “Good Karma Club” 24th April or Live at Leeds 5th May, and follow him on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Soundcloud, and Spotify.
