It isn’t often that I write about my friends’ bands on here – and that isn’t that some aren’t pretty good – but more that I feel like I should be a little tougher on them to keep objective – as futile as that may be. But Fulcher, Smith and Dance (MySpace/Last.fm) tick all the right boxes so I can’t keep them to myself.
I wanted fellow TBW staffer Hamish to introduce FSD, being as he’s the bassist and all – but all I could get out of the man was this short blurb:
“Marcus and Pab lived together in a cottage in the Hampshire countryside. After many booze-fueled recording marathons, they made some songs. In time they considered the songs ready for other people to hear and decided to enlist new members and unleash their music on the world. In London they found half of Art Brut (Michael and Jasper) and a bass player called Hamish, who were more than willing to help. Now, together, they hope as many people as possible will hear the lovely songs.”
So there you have it – Marcus, Pab, Hamish, and couple of members of Art Brut coming together to make beautiful, indie pop that will make your heart both melt and pound.

Sounding good!
hadn’t heard Mockingbird yet – just the other two. Love it.
Yeah – it’s my favourite of their songs I’ve heard live
they rock!
