I am actually in love with this band. My friend Chris who runs Broken Sound Music (the label who will incidentally be releasing Mariner’s debut EP on November 1st) was really enthusiastic about these guys, and when I saw them live for the first time supporting TBW favourite Rachael Dadd at the weekend, I was absolutely gobsmacked. For once, I do believe Chris wasn’t enthusiastic enough!
This seven-piece foot-stomping folk orchestra are truly unlike anything else around at the moment; think something in the vein of an underground version of Mumford & Sons, only even more talented and far more interesting (not that I don’t love those Mumford boys, it’s just if I hear them on one more national advert I’m going to punch myself in the face).
Here is a fantastically dodgy video of them performing ‘It CarvedYour Name Into The Ground’ whilst supporting Peggy Sue on tour last year. I’ve been promised a free MP3 track shortly…

I don’t mean to be rude as I quite like this band. But I have seen them live and this video you posted is a terrible representation of them. They are so much better and this video takes away from their awesomeness.
Find me a better one? x
