Back in 2009, Harvest Festival began at Jimmy’s Farm in Ipswich – the Jimmy in question being TV presenter and famous foodie Jimmy Doherty. The idea behind the festival is to combine great music with tantalising edible treats in a friendly, family environment, and when I attended back in 2009, it did all this incredibly well.
This year sees the festival expand its scope with a second Harvest Festival opening on Alex James (of Blur fame)’s farm near Oxfordshire. Also offering a perfect combination of food and music, it’s difficult to imagine a better way to spend a weekend than on one of these sonic and taste-indulgent farms…
Both festivals take place September 9th-12th this year. Tickets for the Oxfordshire festival can be purchased via www.alexjamespresentsharvest.com and tickets for the Ipswich festival can be purchased via www.harvestatjimmys.com.
The weekend’s musical lineup for both festivals includes KT Tunstall, The Feeling, Athlete and one of my new favourite artists, Benjamin Francis Leftwich.
I love Benjamin Francis Leftwich as much as I love Alex James, cheese and other edible treats. I’d love to get over for this!
