I generally cover the more pop-styled side of electronic music – always having been one for the bass groove and the pop beat – but I can’t help but be intrigued by Berlin-based RKSS who’s Basement EP dropped today on his Bandcamp. Push and Far are not entirely ambient as there is a hypnotic rhythm to them as they grace your ears, soundtracking those slow-motion dream sequences of mind.

The song that really excites me, however, is the title track – Basement. Dark, atmospheric, and brooding electronic grooves are carefully crafted with tribal rhythms to seep beneath your skin. Aggressive, industrial, and utterly mesmerising.
