Named after a road running through the Chicago suburbs where they first played together, Rue Royale are an Anglo-American duo with a distinctive sound of beautifully constructed and deceptively complex vocal and percussive arrangements.
The duo are travelling types, having played in interesting places all over the world; from intimate house shows and a legendary squat site in Hanover to festivals such as End of the Road and Eurosonic. Their supporters include names such as MTV, BBC 6Music and XFM despite both albums so far being self-released.
We’re very happy to share with you, then, the video exclusive for Rue Royale’s latest single ‘Say Now Would You?’. The single was released through noteworthy independent label Need No Water Records last month as part of an EP that also included Plaisir De France and Night Plane remixes.
Need No Water Records have released music from the likes of This Is The Kit, Rozi Plain and Catriona Irving alongside Rue Royale, and is one of London’s best boutique record labels. For more videos from them, visit their YouTube channel here.
Lovely video! And a great song, sounds like breathing! Love it:)
