A little bit of home grown talent for your listening pleasure today in the rather temperate form of London’s very own Bare Pale (Facebook). Headed up by Mathew Rickelton and friends Joe C and Harry, the trio have engaged my attention and set my ears a flutter with excitement with their straight up no mess hit of classic 90’s shoegaze drone.

Currently working on a new EP set for release sometime this later year the band are somewhat of an enigma to me year but this only intrigues me more. I Never Could is the first official single to be taken from their impending EP and it’s a matted jumble of heavy paced drum beats and booming dusky guitar drone. Matthew vocals are barely audible over the dense pressure of lo-fi distortion but its alluding quality adds a textural melancholy to the tracks primitive feedback.
