We previously mentioned before the joyful sounds of the Scottish foursome The Deadlines Shake (Facebook/Twitter) here on the Walrus back in September last year; when the band released their debut single Sweeten The Deal. We mentioned how their cheerful get up and go vibes could wash away a days worth of trouble in the space of 3 minutes and keep listeners merry and mellow, insuring instant satisfaction.
The buoyant quartet have made their mark over the past few months and are now returning this year with their new forthcoming second single Boy. Since their debut release, praise for the band has escalated, with support coming from 6 Music’s DJs Tim Robinson and Steve Lamacq and European international radio airplay.
This follow up to Sweeten the Deal is another catchy little number whose harmonies are as equally packed with easy going pop melodies and jovial burst of spirited pep. It’s mood boosting chorus elevates up to a euphoric clang and clatter of percussion ad guitar twangs before simmer sweetly into its folky jangly foundations.
Boy is released via Flowers in the Dustbin on the 18th March.
