There’s a famous saying that too many cooks spoil the broth, meaning too many people working at once on same thing can ruin the task in hand. Too many elements working together at the same time conflicting against one another. The same can be said when it comes to making music, with so many ideas and egos floating about there is bound to be some hostility and they do say sometimes less can be more. This advice is not always seen to be true. Take for example bands like The Polyphonic Spree, Arcade Fire and Edward Sharpe and The Magnetic Zeros, all bands that are bursting at the seams with band members, all creating a ruckus of incredible sound and all marching to the beat of the same drum with not a petty word between them.

There is a lot going on in this song. There are 60’s pop vibes that seem to be mixed with some 80’s dance sounds, and maybe even some early B-52s. The best may be the surf guitar. Velociraptor mixes it all together into a coherent sound. Nice.
