In advance of the release of his debut EP, Hopscotch, we’re lucky enough to be able to share the premiere of Sam Frankl‘s Overstayed.
A published poet and formerly of alt-pop duo Red Room, Brixton-born Frankl records all his material a stones throw from Walrus Towers at Kite Studios, a rehearsal space he and beatmaker LuQus transformed in professional studio.
It is over the years spent with other musicians at these studios and touring his poetry across the US that Frankl had developed his own sound, a sultry blend of R&B and electronica that offers him the opportunity to let his lyrical talents flourish.
And no-where are these talents more apparent than on Overstayed, where the plucked bass and sunrise soul vibe gives a smooth summer sparkle to his words.
Sam Frankl – Hopscotch EP is due for release on 12 September on One Two Many Records.
