The Woods - Armchair Expert (video premiere)

After finding fans across the globe for his 2015 debut EP The Start, musical polymath Johnny McFadzean (aka The Woods) has taken his folk sound and reinvented himself with the tools of electronica. We’re thrilled to be able to share with you the fruits of that reinvention, with the stop-motion video premiere of single ‘Armchair Expert’.

The track itself is a mesmerising cut of folktronica that plays with traditional folk vocal melodies, layering them upon each other and interweaving them with soft and subtle synths. Meanwhile, the lyrics take aim at the naysayers, the people tell you not to take a chance and reach for the stars, but as McFadzean says “I don’t mind falling out of trees because it turns out I love climbing them.”
