There are quite a number of exciting pairs of producers operating at the moment, but not many of them actually share their life with one another like husband and wife, Kelly and Caleb Ellis, that make music under the name of Danjasop.

The songs of their forthcoming debut EP have just the right ingredients to make any party worthwhile. We can find a slightly suggestion of the kind of latin rhythms that Mala went on searching in Cuba ( “Long D Tom”) and smooth electro-pop with better drops than Grimes’ Go (“Qwenstafari”) in less than sixteen minutes of music.

The title track and opener “Wino Rider” sums it up best. It seems to echo right at the beginning a reggaeish sounding. The impression, however, doesn’t last long. That reggae hint gradually gives place to the usual twists and turns that make electronic music so unpredictable, which at times might just lose the listener’s attention. But this is not case of “Wino Rider” mainly because of that pitch-shifted vocal line that’s heard almost all way through, which makes it perfectly clear that we’re in pretty good hands with Danjasop.
