I couldn’t find much background information on this artist but he already has an impressive back catalogue of music behind him and I think his music pretty much speaks for itself. What a nice little surprise this was to come across in my inbox, not to be in anyway confused with DJ superstar Norman Cook, Haiti born but now residency in New York, MC, producer and songwriter Cook Norman Blaze (facebook) aka Andreas Galvin mixes up tropical funk with hip hop beats and vocal breaks. His latest album Smoove is available as a free download from his Bandcamp page and is a relaxed and chilled affair. With the majority of his songs coming in under two minutes this is a nice little 26 minute package of experimental jazzy soulful funk.

Highlights from the album include the percussion ridden slow burn Le P’ti Malaice, Cardiac Attack and the very tranquil and enchanting First Date.

Currently unsigned and self managed, he self produces and writes all his own material and from the high quality production and determined endeavour that has gone into this record he is sure to cook up a blaze.
