London based experimental electronic duo Deafkid arrive late of providing additional production and the live touring band for Ghostpoet and have been making waves despite only having two tracks currently available online. The tracks Talk and Pig both have a fresh refined sound that’s rare to hear from a group at such an early stage, undoubtably honed during the time spent playing together whist touring with Ghostpoet over the last couple of years. Band members Chris Lockington and Florian Sauvaire list themselves simply as musicians and producers and that collaborative feel influences every part of Deafkid’s sound. The tracks blend sweetly performed live instrumentation with harsh, glitchy but eminently danceable beats and layered soundscapes to form an off-kilter, linear songwriting style that presents an idea just long enough to pique your interest before it gets bored and moves onto something new.
